The Updated La Louisiane Recipe

I absolutely love this drink. My version of the La Louisiane splits the bitters for added dimension and brings in Cocchi di Torino for its rich character. It’s a beautiful harmony where Bénédictine’s herbal sweetness plays right alongside a bold rye, making it a standout for your home bar.

Recipe Directions

1. Take your chilled glass, give it an absinthe rinse. Coat the inside, then discard the excess.
2. Into your mixing glass, add the rye, the Cocchi Vermouth, the Bénédictine, and both the Peychaud's and Angostura bitters.
3. Add ice. Give that a good, thorough stir until well-chilled.
4. Strain the cocktail into your prepared glass.
5. Express the lemon oil over the drink, then discard the peel.
