The Deshler #3 Recipe

The Deshler #3 is a truly great, old-school Manhattan variation. The spicy, high-rye bourbon is a perfect match for the rich, fruity character of Lillet Rouge. Expressing both lemon and orange skins right into the mixing glass is the key that makes the whole thing pop.

Recipe Ingredients

2 oz. (60 ml) Old Grand-Dad Bonded Bourbon Add to Cart
1 oz. (30 ml) Lillet Rouge Aperitif Add to Cart
1/2 oz. (15 ml) Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao Add to Cart
2 dashes Peychaud's Bitters Add to Cart
1 piece lemon skin
1 piece orange skin
Orange twist for garnish

Recipe Directions

1. Chill your glass.
2. In a mixing glass, combine the bourbon, Lillet Rouge, dry curaçao, and Peychaud's bitters. Add the lemon and orange skins.
3. Fill with ice and stir until properly chilled and diluted.
4. Strain into your chilled glass.
5. Garnish with an expressed orange twist.
