Deshler

The Deshler is a cocktail I come back to again and again. You get that spicy bourbon backbone, but the Lillet Rouge and Dry Curaçao create a rich, complex profile. That one-two punch of expressed lemon and orange oil is the key that makes it all sing.

Recipe Ingredients

2 oz. Old Grand-Dad Bonded Bourbon Add to Cart
1 oz. Lillet Rouge Aperitif Add to Cart
1/2 oz. Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao Add to Cart
2 dashes Peychaud's Bitters Add to Cart
1 orange swath (expressed oil)
1 lemon swath (expressed oil)
Orange peel for garnish

Recipe Directions

1. Grab your mixing glass. Add the bourbon, Lillet Rouge, dry curaçao, and Peychaud’s bitters.
2. Fill with ice. Give it a good stir until properly chilled.
3. Strain into a chilled coupe.
4. Take your orange and lemon swaths, express the oils over the drink, then discard.
5. Garnish with an orange peel.
