The Original La Louisiane Recipe
I've always had a soft spot for the La Louisiane, a true New Orleans classic that is all about balance. The assertive spice from the rye, the rich botanicals of the vermouth, and the honeyed herbs of the Bénédictine play together perfectly with that critical anise note.
Recipe Ingredients
1/2 oz. (15 ml) Cocchi Vermouth Di Torino Add to Cart
1/2 oz. (15 ml) Bénédictine D.O.M. Liqueur Add to Cart
4 dashes Legendre Herbsaint Original Liqueur Add to Cart (or absinthe)
4 dashes Peychaud's Bitters Add to Cart
Cocktail cherry for garnish
Recipe Directions
2. Fill the glass with ice.
3. Stir thoroughly until well-chilled.
4. Strain into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass.
5. Garnish with a cocktail cherry.
