Worthy Park 109 Jamaican Rum hails from the Lluidas Vale in Jamaica, a site with a rum-making history stretching back to 1741, making it one of the island's oldest sugar and rum producers. While the estate itself was founded in 1670, and sugar cultivation began in 1720, rum production ceased in the 1960s before a new, modern distillery was built in 2005, reviving the tradition. The "109" is a relatively recent addition, first announced around 2020, and is a blend of a lighter ester rum aged for three years in ex-bourbon casks and a touch of unaged, higher-ester rum, all 100% copper pot-stilled. Worthy Park is renowned for being a single-estate producer, meaning every step from sugarcane cultivation to bottling happens on-site, and they are highly regarded for producing rums free of added sugar or flavorings.

Worthy Park 109, a blend of light-ester rum aged three years in ex-bourbon casks and a touch of unaged high-ester rum, brings that unmistakable Jamaican funk with notes of tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, alongside richer crème brûlée and cacao. Bottled at a robust 54.5% ABV, it really shines in Tiki drinks, classic rum cocktails, or even a simple rum and coke, lending significant body and a complex flavor profile.
