Planteray O.F.T.D. Overproof Rum is a relatively new creation, born from a collaboration between Planteray's cellar master, Alexandre Gabriel, and six leading rum experts and bartenders from around the globe, including Jeff "Beachbum" Berry and David Wondrich. This formidable spirit is a blend of rums from Guyana, Jamaica, and Barbados, an intentional nod to classic Navy Rum styles. The brand, formerly known as Plantation Rum and recognized for its double-aging process (first in their country of origin and then in French oak casks), developed O.F.T.D. (which officially stands for Old Fashioned Traditional Dark) after numerous experiments to define the ideal overproof rum for cocktails. Legend has it the "O.F.T.D." moniker also playfully stands for "Oh F*** That's Delicious," a spontaneous exclamation from one of the collaborators upon tasting the final blend.
