Alexandre Gabriel, the founder of Planteray (formerly Plantation Rum), teamed up with rum historian Matt Pietrek for a five-year project to rediscover authentic 19th-century Royal Navy rum production. The result is a blend from Barbados, Guyana, Trinidad, and Jamaica that revives lost techniques like "proactive vatting" for a richer concentration and dynamic aging at sea. It’s a tribute to naval veteran Michael Fogg, who preserved much of this history, offering a genuine taste of a meticulously researched tradition.
