The Old Cuban
The Old Cuban is a modern classic for a good reason; it’s basically a Mojito in a tuxedo. That familiar mint and lime get a serious upgrade with aged rum and sparkling wine. It's complex, refreshing, and always a hit. The Angostura 1919 we carry at the House of Bitter Bear is just perfect for it.
Recipe Ingredients
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) fresh lime juice
1/2 oz. (15 ml) semi-rich simple syrup (1.5:1 sugar:water)
2-3 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters Add to Cart
6-8 mint leaves
2 oz. (60 ml) sparkling wine
Mint leaf garnish
Recipe Directions
2. Now, add the rum, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and Angostura Bitters.
3. Fill your tin with ice.
4. Cap it up and give it a good, hard shake until well chilled.
5. Double strain that into a chilled coupe or flute.
6. Top it off with the sparkling wine.
7. Garnish with a fresh mint leaf.
