Preakness Cocktail
The Preakness is a personal favorite—a truly satisfying riff on the Manhattan that shines because of its brilliant simplicity. The key is using cocktail ingredients that can stand on their own. For my build, the high-rye spice of Old Grand-Dad Bonded provides the perfect backbone for the rich, complex Cocchi di Torino, while a small measure of Bénédictine lends its unmistakable honeyed, herbal depth. That bright pop of expressed lemon oil ties it all together beautifully. It’s a confident, delicious cocktail built from exceptional craft spirits.
Recipe Ingredients
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Cocchi Vermouth Di Torino Add to Cart
1/4 oz. (7.5 ml) Bénédictine D.O.M. Liqueur Add to Cart
Expressed lemon oil and peel for garnish
Recipe Directions
2. Add ice and stir until thoroughly chilled.
3. Strain into a chilled coupe or rocks glass.
4. Express lemon oil over the drink, then drop in the peel.
