My Go-To Hot Toddy

A proper Hot Toddy is one of life's great comforts, and this is the version I always come back to. The key move is swapping basic hot water for chamomile tea; it adds a soft, floral character that beautifully complements the honey and the rich, malty notes of the blended scotch.

Recipe Ingredients

1.5 oz. (45 ml) Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt Scotch Whisky Add to Cart
1/2 oz. (15 ml) honey syrup (3:1 honey:hot water)
1/4 oz. (7.5 ml) fresh lemon juice
4-5 oz. (120-150 ml) chamomile tea
1 cinnamon stick
4 whole cloves
Expressed lemon oil
Clove-studded lemon peel for garnish

Recipe Directions

1. Brew your chamomile tea.
2. Combine the whisky, honey syrup, and lemon juice in a heat-proof mug.
3. Add the cinnamon stick and whole cloves.
4. Pour in the hot chamomile tea.
5. Express lemon oil over the drink.
6. Garnish with the clove-studded lemon peel.
