The Junior
This is a cocktail I find myself coming back to again and again. The Junior is a fantastic showcase for how that spicy, 100-proof Rittenhouse rye plays with the distinct herbal and honeyed character of Bénédictine. It's a simple, seriously underrated sour that shines.
Recipe Ingredients
1/2 oz. (15 ml) Bénédictine D.O.M. Liqueur Add to Cart
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) fresh lime juice
1/4 oz. (7.5 ml) rich Demerara syrup (2:1 sugar:water)
2 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters Add to Cart
Dehydrated lime wheel for garnish
Recipe Directions
2. Add the rye whiskey, Bénédictine, fresh lime juice, rich Demerara syrup, and Angostura bitters.
3. Fill the tin with ice.
4. Give it a good, hard shake until properly chilled.
5. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass.
6. Garnish with a dehydrated lime wheel.
