The Fast Mojito Recipe
The Mojito gets a bad rap for being fussy and slow, so this is my fix. Shaking the drink makes it faster, colder, and frankly, better. Using a quality, lightly aged rum like The Real McCoy with a rich Demerara syrup makes all the difference. It's that simple.
Recipe Ingredients
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) fresh lime juice
1/2 oz. (15 ml) rich Demerara syrup (2:1 sugar:water)
10-12 mint leaves + mint sprig for garnish
Recipe Directions
2. Lightly muddle them. Just a few presses.
3. Add the rum, lime juice, and Demerara syrup.
4. Fill the tin with ice.
5. Cap it. Shake hard for 10 to 15 seconds.
6. Strain into a glass with fresh ice.
7. Garnish with a mint sprig.
