Port Light
The Port Light is a fantastic bourbon drink, often overlooked. Some might call it tiki-adjacent, but I think it’s just a smart, balanced cocktail. You get that tropical punch from passion fruit and grenadine, but a high-rye, high-proof bourbon provides a spicy backbone that keeps everything in check. The result is a surprisingly complex and ridiculously crushable drink that proves bourbon has a place on the beach. If you’re building out your home bar, the craft spirits needed for this one are versatile workhorses you’ll reach for again and again. Anders Erickson and the Bitter Bear spirits team selected these specific bottles because they are the exact tools you need to make this cocktail correctly, ensuring the bright fruit notes don't overpower the spirit's character. Getting these cocktail ingredients right is the key to nailing the balance.
