New York Sour
The New York Sour is one of those brilliantly simple upgrades that makes a huge impact. You get that perfectly balanced, silky whiskey sour, then the dry red wine float introduces a striking visual contrast and a wonderful tannic, fruity complexity. It’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.
Recipe Ingredients
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz. (15 ml) rich Demerara syrup (2:1 sugar:water)
1/2 oz. (15 ml) aquafaba OR 1 egg white
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) red wine (float)
Lemon oil (optional)
Recipe Directions
2. Perform a dry shake for 15 seconds.
3. Add ice and wet shake until well-chilled.
4. Double strain into your serving glass.
5. Carefully float the red wine over the top.
6. Express lemon oil, if desired.
