Mint Julep
A great Mint Julep is a masterclass in elegant simplicity and, for me, one of the most purely refreshing cocktails in existence. It’s all about process and letting a properly bold, bonded bourbon shine. That high-rye spice cuts through the rich demerara and aromatic mint, creating a bracing drink where every ingredient pulls its weight. When that cup gets frosty, you've got a perfect sipper.
Recipe Ingredients
1/2 oz. (15 ml) rich Demerara syrup (2:1 sugar:water)
6-8 mint leaves
Mint sprig for garnish
Recipe Directions
2. Add the Old Grand-Dad Bonded Bourbon.
3. Pack the cup tightly with crushed ice.
4. Stir vigorously with a bar spoon until the cup is thoroughly chilled and frosted.
5. Garnish with a slapped mint sprig.
