Lonely Valentine

The Lonely Valentine is a personal favorite of mine because it hits all the right notes. You get the grassy cane character from the rum, a touch of dark fruit from the port, and a clean chocolate profile from the white crème de cacao, all balanced by bright citrus.

Recipe Ingredients

1.5 oz. (45 ml) The Real McCoy 3 Year Rum Add to Cart
1/2 oz. (15 ml) Fonseca Bin #27 Port Wine Add to Cart
1/2 oz. (15 ml) Marie Brizard Crème de Cacao White Add to Cart
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) fresh lemon juice
1/4 oz. (7.5 ml) semi-rich simple syrup (1.5:1 sugar:water)

Recipe Directions

1. Grab a coupe or cocktail glass and set it to chill.
2. Into your shaker, combine the rum, ruby port, white crème de cacao, fresh lemon juice, and semi-rich simple syrup.
3. Add ice to the shaker.
4. Seal and give it a good, hard shake until properly chilled.
5. Double strain the contents into your pre-chilled glass.
