Colleen Bawn

The Colleen Bawn is one of my favorite flips for a reason. You get this incredibly rich, velvety texture from the whole egg, but the spicy rye cuts right through the sweet, complex botanicals of the Yellow Chartreuse and Bénédictine. It's a perfectly balanced liquid dessert.

Recipe Ingredients

3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Rittenhouse Straight Rye Whisky Bottled in Bond Add to Cart
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Chartreuse Yellow Add to Cart
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Bénédictine D.O.M. Liqueur Add to Cart
1 whole egg
Grated nutmeg for garnish

Recipe Directions

1. Combine the rye, Yellow Chartreuse, Bénédictine, and whole egg in a shaker.
2. Dry shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds to emulsify the egg.
3. Add ice to the shaker.
4. Shake until well chilled, about 10-15 seconds.
5. Fine strain into a chilled coupe.
6. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.
